Shelley Chrystal Mactyre is an attorney who believes in helping clients achieve their goals and plan for the future. She chose to practice in Hillsboro because it was the city she fell in love with in 1999 when she and her husband moved to Oregon from Nevada.
The
daughter of a Navy chaplain, Shelley grew up all over the country. She graduated
from the University of Nevada, Reno and Lewis and Clark Law School and is
admitted to the Oregon State Bar. In her free time, she writes, gardens, plays
the cello, and spends time with her menagerie of dogs and ferrets. She and
her husband, Matthew, have been married since 1992.
Before law school, Shelley did everything from tutoring college students in biology and chemistry, to splicing fiberoptic cable, to coordinating weddings for nervous Reno brides. While in law school, she worked for local attorneys, a district judge, and was active in a variety of pro bono arenas, including authoring a guide to Oregon's HIV laws and assisting pro se litigants with dissolution and custody documents.
Shelley believes the law belongs to everyone and should be accessible to everyone. She also enjoys helping people plan for the future, as well as deal with the craziness life throws their way.
